This past week, I had the opportunity to work with some moms at camp. One mama, in particular, tugged on my heart-strings…the things she and her children have endured and continue to endure are gut-wrenching. She came with her guard up, scared and wanting to run, had a hardness about her (emotionally and physically) and she had all but given up on life:-(
Fast forward to Day 5 of camp, I am sitting with this mom during lunch and she shares with me that she has never in her life has she been shown so much kindness, love, and support…she continued to share that she wasn’t an emotional person but because she had been shown such warmth, care and compassion during her time, it made her think about how she interacted with her kids and others.
This mom finally got the power of words!
Sometimes a different perspective or mindset is needed in order for change to happen!
Training your mind to think positive while not automatic, is still possible!
Here’s the deal, your mind can only focus on one thought at a time, so you have to keep it focused on uplifting thoughts until you form the same types of neural pathways that are created when you establish a new habit.
When a negative event occurs, remember that it’s your RESPONSE that truly determines the outcome.
When you catch yourself using negative and disempowering words, pause and try to think of a more positive phrase, word or sentence.
If we speak with positive and affirming energy that is how we will feel and will, in turn, attract positive energy vibrations and manifest what we seek.
Practicing gratitude and using affirmations on a daily basis help rid me of negative thoughts and encourage a more positive attitude and lifestyle.
I have been creating affirmation downloads for my personal cell phone and laptop for several months now and have come to love them. I often have people ask me where I got my phone screensaver when they see my phone so I am sharing this month’s affirmation downloads that I created for myself with you!
